Girl Meets World is returning for Season 2, and the show is bringing back some familiar faces for the premiere week.
During the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards last night, Disney Channel released an all-new promo for the upcoming Girl Meets World Season 2 premiere week, with Will Friedle returning as Cory’s brother, Eric Matthews. In the clip, he’s back in his absurd “Plays With Squirrels” persona, which is one of those ridiculous things that’s just silly enough to work (largely because Friedle commits to the bit so enthusiastically). Also returning is William Daniels as one of TV’s greatest mentor figures of all-time, Mr. Feeny. Get hyped for the Girl Meets World Season 2 premiere week by checking out the very first promo below:
If you’re wondering why it’s called “Premiere Week” as opposed to simply the season premiere, it’s because Disney Channel is taking a unique approach to Girl Meets World Season 2: the first two episodes of the new season will premiere the same week, as opposed to the one-night, one-hour block that some other shows might do for an event of this magnitude. The two episodes will bookend the premiere week, with Mr. Feeny appearing in the season premiere, “Girl Meets Gravity,” airing on Monday, May 11 season at 8:30/7:30c. Meanwhile, Eric/Mr. Squirrels will arrive in the episode airing on Friday, May 15. It’s still yet to be determined, however, just when Rider Strong will return as Shawn Hunter. But we do get to see him briefly in the promo above, so there’s hope for future Boy Meets World reunions as the series rolls on. All in all, it looks like a fun Season 2 is in store.
